Job Summary

There are two opportunities : one permanent and one 12-month temporary position. The Licensing Specialist assesses eligibility for cannabis, special event, and liquor licensing, agency registrations, and cannabis representative registrations, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and guidelines. The role involves extensive interaction with the public, applicants, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, handling a high volume of inquiries professionally and accurately within reasonable timelines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma; post-secondary education is an asset.
  • At least three years of administrative experience and strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience interpreting legislation, policies, and guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents such as lease agreements, land titles, and partnership agreements.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work both independently and in a team.
