About You

  • Experienced & Independent: You have a strong background in systems administration, with the ability to take ownership of infrastructure responsibilities and work autonomously.

  • Security-Minded: You understand best practices for securing systems and networks and proactively implement improvements.
  • Collaborative: While you're confident working solo, you’re also comfortable contributing to a team environment, including code reviews and cross-functional projects.
  • Adaptable: You stay calm under pressure and are always looking for ways to improve systems, processes, and tools.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, particularly managing Linux servers.
  • 2+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of VMware or similar virtualization technologies.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining web servers, gateways (Caddy, HAProxy), and VPN infrastructure.
  • Experience with coding language C++. Familiarity with -QL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PHP.
  • Familiarity with MySQL database replication and high-availability environments.
  • Prior experience with email server administration and load balancing tools.
  • Proficient with scripting and software troubleshooting in Linux/Windows environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to systems design and maintenance.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux servers in a VMware environment.
  • Configure and manage web gateways such as Caddy and HAProxy.
  • Build, secure, and maintain redundant network infrastructure to ensure high availability.
  • Administer and optimize VPN access for remote team members.
  • Manage database servers, including implementing and maintaining replication strategies.
  • Oversee email infrastructure, ensuring reliability and security.
  • Research and recommend infrastructure tools and best practices to keep our tech stack modern and efficient.
  • Build and configure new servers for web, email, and network gateway functions.
  • Perform regular system updates and enforce security best practices.
  • Contribute to software development by building and testing updates for Linux, Windows, and web applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and technical planning discussions.
