Job summary

The Salvation Army Meighen Health Centre is seeking a Laundry Aide to wash and care for the facility’s linen and residents’ clothing in accordance with health and safety guidelines. You will ensure resident safety and provide customer service excellence while planning, implementing and evaluating laundry programs.

Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, labeling, and delivering laundry, while maintaining infection control and quality management standards in a supportive team

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 10 education.
• Previous housekeeping experience required.
• Ability to read, write English and follow written instructions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Washes and dries laundry following machine instructions and loads.
• Sorts laundry by type, condition and weight and returns clean items to units.
• Delivers and picks up laundry from units and labels resident clothing.
• Observes equipment and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintains cleanliness of laundry facilities and supplies.

Education

Minimum grade 10 education

Previous housekeeping experience

Read, write English and follow written instructions

Communicate effectively with residents and staff
