Qualifications

  • 5 years of dispatch transportation experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years management and/or supervision experience preferred.
  • Ability to create detailed reports using different software.

  • Lead the Truckload operations ensuring maximization of equipment and costs.

Job description

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Linehaul Scheduling Supervisorto be based at our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. The successful candidate will be responsible to Lead the Linehaul Planners and Truckload Coordinators to meet service expectations at the highest equipment utilization and best cost for Midland Asset Operations. The successful incumbent will be required to coach team to ensure targets and goals are met, and on occasion will need to cover planner duties to cover vacations and vacancies.

Qualifications
  • Education Required: Trade Certification or College Diploma in a related field would be an asset
  • Years of Experience Required:
    • 5 years of dispatch transportation experience
    • Minimum of 3 years management and/or supervision experience would be an asset
  • Strong computer skills, with intermediate abilities in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create detailed reports using different software
  • Previous experience using AS 400/Cognos would be an asset
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the daytime planning operations. Must ensure plans optimize equipment, costs and service.
  • Responsible to lead the Truckload operations, ensuring Truckload maximizes equipment, costs, and service.
  • Responsible for the supervision, training, and development of all Planners and Truckload coordinators.
  • Required to lead team meanings, deliver KPI results, and drive actions for improvement. A key contributor in leading Daily Management in the Linehaul team.
  • Responsible for ensuring a proper shift handoff occurs between incoming and outgoing planning groups.
  • Support any business process improvement initiatives. Must have strong system knowledge.
