Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only ensure the customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition, but they also serve as the face of our company, building lasting relationships with our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Class 1 Linehaul Driver is responsible for driving on local and national highways, pulling trailers from our Regina, Saskatchewan yard. Your role may also include over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and related products to customers safely and timely.

Schedule: Sunday to Thursday starting at 7 p.m.

Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To

  • Dispatched from Winnipeg based on the posted schedule, covering overnight line haul.
  • Back-up for some city and overnight routes, either hourly or pay-for-performance based on the route.
  • Required to pull B-Train trailers from Regina, meet another driver halfway to Winnipeg, hook, re-hook empty trailers, and return to Regina.
  • Perform all tasks in compliance with PFG safety policy and OSHA requirements.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment, paperwork, and loaded products.
  • Maintain daily electronic driving logs.
  • Drive to destinations as outlined in the manifest in a safe, responsible manner, complying with all laws and transportation regulations.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Unload and deliver products within the assigned area as directed by the customer.
  • Assist Customer Service and Buyers as needed professionally and promptly.
  • Check credits and process them according to company guidelines.
  • Submit customer payments and paperwork to appropriate personnel timely.

Qualifications

  • Current AZ/Class 1 Drivers license.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Meet all provincial licensing and certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Ability to lift and handle product cases or freight of varying sizes and weights, generally between 10-35 pounds and up to 60-90 pounds depending on the location.
