Shellex Consulting Group is currently seeking a Linear Infrastructure Technician / Engineer for its Toronto office.

Shellex Consulting Group is a team of over 150 Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers across Ontario and Quebec. Founded in 2001, we consistently experience growth year after year. As we continue to expand, our Toronto office is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and entrepreneurial-minded Roadway Engineer.

We are looking for a Linear Infrastructure Technician to be part of the growing Civil Infrastructure Group. In this role, you would also provide support to the industrial side of the business.

What You’ll Do at Shellex :

  1. Manage projects and clients for various linear infrastructure projects.
  2. Perform infrastructure design and prepare detailed engineering design drawings;
  3. Provide project support;
  4. Work closely with staff at various levels to ensure projects are carried out in an efficient and professional manner;
  5. Assist in the planning, analysis, design, approval, and construction administration of linear infrastructure projects, including local servicing, transmission, collection, and conveyance systems, using various construction methods (e.g., open-cut, trenchless).
  6. Work closely with design teams, providing guidance to engineers and technicians in developing preliminary and detailed design drawings, preparing reports, coordinating approvals, estimating construction costs, and liaising with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.
  7. Support construction inspectors in the field and contract administrators in the office, addressing and adapting to unforeseen challenges during construction.
  8. Develop project management and technical skills under the mentorship of senior management.
  9. Collaborate with project teams, including cross-office coordination, to ensure successful project delivery that meets client expectations.
  10. Contribute to the preparation of proposals, project reports, design documents, and permit applications.
  11. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications required :

  • Diploma / certificate in Civil Technology or related program; A P.Eng would be an asset.
  • 4-5 years (or more) of experience with AutoCAD and / or Civil 3D;
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and results-focused.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficiency in French an asset (but not required)
  • Valid driver’s license
