Job summary

A logistics company in Squamish is seeking a full-time truck driver to operate and maintain vehicles, plan routes, and ensure safe transport of goods. Applicants must have a valid Class 5 licence and be permanent or temporary residents authorized to work in Canada. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $36.60. Responsibilities
Tasks
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods
