Job summary

Cineplex is seeking an hourly Line Cook in Whitby, Canada to support a fast‑paced kitchen environment. You will prepare meals, follow recipes and presentation standards, and ensure stock levels and cleanliness meet company guidelines. The role offers flexible hours and opportunities for growth.

Existing experience in food service and knowledge of sanitation are valued, with a diploma in food services management considered a plus. Tuition assistance and other benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of methods for serving food, sanitation, and safe food handling.
  • Flexible to extended hours as needed.
  • A professional diploma in food services management is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Daily set-up and preparation of items in pantry, fry or stations.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
  • Restock items throughout the shift.
  • Clean, sanitize and organize kitchen and storage areas.
  • Adhere to regulations including bloodborne pathogens and fire safety.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by chef or sous chef.

What you will do:Our Hourly Line Cooks are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. Hourly Line Cooks have a range of responsibilities in the kitchen including strict adherence to health and safety guidelines, maintaining food stock levels throughout the day, and preparing meals consistent with company standards.
