ABOUT THE POSITION

National Westhills is looking for experienced Line Cooks to join their team on a part-time or full-time permanent basis. The Line Cook is responsible for producing high-quality dishes, working efficiently, and maintaining cleanliness in their environment. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Accurately prepare and present food orders, following the restaurant’s standards as directed by the Head Chef.
  2. Maintain the highest levels of hygiene and food safety in food preparation and handling.
  3. Keep the venue clean and organized at all times.
  4. Conduct yourself professionally and positively.
  5. Store food products properly, label, rotate, and minimize waste to ensure freshness and quality.
  6. Help meet and exceed department goals.
  7. Motivate team members and promote high self-esteem and efficiency.
  8. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and complaints, aiming to exceed expectations.
  9. Follow reporting procedures for workplace accidents and incidents.
  10. Adhere to policies, checklists, prep sheets, and par sheets as assigned.
  11. Assist on the floor or in the kitchen as needed based on business demands.
  12. Perform other related duties as required.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience working at more than one station is a plus.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to build relationships with team members and leadership.
  • Professionalism and composure in stressful situations.
  • WHMIS Certification (can be obtained after hiring).
  • Food Safe Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hiring).
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
