ABOUT THE POSITION

Major Tom is seeking experienced Line Cooks to join our team on a part-time or full-time permanent basis. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, working efficiently, and maintaining cleanliness in the workspace. The role requires availability during evenings and weekends.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Hourly Wage: $15.00 - $18.00 / hr depending on experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Accurately prepare and present food items following restaurant standards under the guidance of the Head Chef.
  2. Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety in all food handling and preparation activities.
  3. Ensure the cleanliness of the venue at all times.
  4. Conduct yourself professionally and positively.
  5. Properly store, label, and rotate food products to ensure quality and minimize waste.
  6. Assist in achieving department goals.
  7. Motivate team members and promote a positive work environment.
  8. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and complaints, aiming to exceed expectations.
  9. Follow reporting procedures for workplace accidents and incidents.
  10. Adhere to policies, checklists, prep sheets, and par sheets as assigned.
  11. Assist on the floor or in the kitchen as needed based on business demands.
  12. Perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience working on multiple stations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for effective team and customer interactions.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in stressful situations.
  • WHMIS Certification (can be obtained after hiring).
  • Food Safe Certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
