Job description

Arterra Wines Canada is the leading producer and marketer of award-winning Canadian and imported wines. We are currently recruiting for multiple Line Cook positions to join our culinary team. The Line Cook will work with an experienced team to prepare and execute daily food service and private events.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.
  2. Perform daily opening, closing, and cleaning duties as directed by the winery chef, ensuring a clean and prepared environment for positive guest experiences.
  3. Follow standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies consistently.
  4. Maintain sufficient stock levels at line stations to ensure smooth service.
  5. Portion food according to standard recipes and sizes.
  6. Keep workstations clean and sanitary, including all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
  7. Follow proper plate presentation and garnishing standards.
  8. Handle, store, and rotate products properly.
  9. Assist in food prep during off-peak hours as needed.
  10. Properly close the kitchen following the closing checklist and assist others in closing procedures.
  11. Attend scheduled meetings and contribute suggestions for improvement.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Estate Chef or manager-on-duty.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  2. At least 6 months of experience in a similar role.
  3. Ability to communicate clearly with management and staff.
  4. Physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  5. Ability to stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).
