Fine Dining Line Cook

About us:
Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15-minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options.
You must possess a valid Canadian working visa to apply.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and talented Fine Dining Line Cook to join our fine dining restaurant. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking exquisite dishes with precision and attention to detail. You will work alongside a team of skilled chefs to ensure that our guests have an exceptional dining experience.

Competitive hourly wage based on experience: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and cook menu items according to the restaurant's standards and recipes book.
  2. Follow proper plating techniques to present dishes in an appealing and artistic manner.
  3. Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc).
  4. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  5. Monitor food inventory and communicate any shortages or quality issues to the chef.
  6. Keep a sanitized and orderly work environment in the kitchen.
  7. Ensure that all dishes are prepared and served on time, meeting the high-quality standards of the restaurant.
  8. Uphold a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  1. 2+ years previous experience as a Line Cook in a fine dining, steakhouse or upscale restaurant.
  2. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
  3. Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate efficiently under pressure.
  4. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  5. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
  6. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  7. Able to work in a standing position for the duration of shift.
  8. Flexible to work various shifts that may include weekends, overnights, evenings, and holidays as required.
  9. Must be fluent in English or French.
  10. Must be a Canadian resident or have a valid work visa.
