Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Cook for a full-time position in Calgary, AB. The role starts at $21.00 per hour, with rotating shifts from 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.

You will prepare and cook food to corporate standards and ensure high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include mise en place, labeling and storing food, proper equipment cleaning, and effective communication with departments.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in restaurant or prep cook roles.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work with accuracy and speed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverages appropriately.
• Communicate with other operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
