Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of culinary experience in a hotel or resort environment.

Job description

Do you love food and everything about it? We are looking to recruit Line Cooks for the upcoming season. Do you also love skiing or snowboarding? The Line Cook assists in cleaning, preparing, and cooking per planned menus. The environment is bustling as three (3) kitchens within the property provide complete food and beverage services to our local, hotel and business guests. This role offers every opportunity to continue developing a career in the art of culinary, opening opportunities for advancement internally and externally throughout the Tourism / Hospitality industry.

Compensation Information: $21.85 per hour

Physical Requirement: Heavy: Work activities involve handling loads more than 20kg; predominately indoor setting.

Skills You Bring With You:
  • 1-2 years of previous culinary experience preferably within a Hotel / Resort environment.
  • 1 year of production and banquet experience is considered an asset.
  • Working towards a career in culinary or a Red Seal Certification.
  • Holds a Food Safe Level 1 Certification.
  • Has good understanding of kitchen operations.
  • Is self-disciplined with a sincere desire to provide an elevated guest experience.
  • Self-starts on tasks and can respond to varying business volumes as they relate to impacts on the kitchen.
  • Is physically capable of working in a fast-paced environment and safely lift heavy loads around 35kg.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for some aspects of food preparation and delivery on assigned station.
    • Follows standard recipes.
    • Ensures quality and quantity of all food production on assigned station.
      • Inspect all food products on delivery.
      • Ensures accurate portion control measures are being followed.
      • Ensures standard recipes are followed.
      • Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
    • Responsible for operating a station in the assigned kitchen.
      • Inspect all food products at the assigned station.
      • Ensures the assigned food station is up to department standards, and equipment meets health and safety standards.
      • Ensures opening and closing procedures are followed for assigned station.
      • Follow SOP for culinary team starts and end shifts on time inclusive of breaks.
      • Adheres to cleaning schedule and daily cleaning details as per established schedule and guidelines.
    • Responsible for all health and safety records for the station.
      • Completes all daily cooling records as required.
      • Checks and communicates that all equipment at the station is up to health and safety standards.
        • Follow corrective actions in a timely manner.
        • Communicate need for maintenance requests in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for communicating any changes or shortage of food items on station.
      • Ensure the station is fully set up 30min prior to food service.
      • Ensure special requests for large group reservations are prepared in a timely manner.
      • Supports chefs in creation of specials.
      • Restock station for next shift.
    • Ensure quality food products are delivered in a timely manner.
      • Timing of food service as per established timeline.
      • Accuracy of food presentation.
      • Breakfast food service time should be around 8-12 min.
      • Lunch food service time should not exceed 15 min.
      • Dinner food service time - bar not to exceed 15 min, restaurant within 15-25 min.
