JobType : Permanent, Full-Time

JobLocation : 975 Gladstone Ave, Ottawa, ON

Position Summary

As aLine Cookat CBN,youwill assist the Cafeteria Managerinthepreparationand servingoffood to ouremployees at our on-site cafeteria, as well asensurethe food service facilities arealways kept safe and sanitary.You willalso support the cafeteria in menu planning, catering preparation, inventory and creating dailyspecials.Thisrole operates on a set shift(Monday-Friday 6 : 45am-2 : 45pm).

Responsibilities

  • Preparevegetables for salads and lunch specials, preparemeals based on customer defined preferences, blendingand servingsmoothies and helpingin the kitchen asrequested;
  • Createvaried and nutritious menus for lunches, in-house catering, and specialevents;
  • Arrangeset-up of food items, supplies, serving lines and equipment and ensuringthat they are provided in accordance with cafeteriarequirements;
  • Cleanfood preparation and serving areasandmaintain safe and sanitary kitchen conditions at alltimes;
  • Reportany equipment malfunctions or other potential safety concerns to the CafeteriaManager;
  • Performcash, debit and credit transactions at the cash register throughout theday;
  • Monitorinventory (food, materials) and reportlow stock levels to the Cafeteria Managerto avoid impact onmeal plans; and
  • Various other duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • 2+yearsofexperience working in kitchen(back-end)environment
  • Valid Food Handler Certification(asset;must bewilling to attainif not in possession)
  • Customer Service experience(asset)
  • Payment handling / transactions experience (asset)

Mandatory Requirements

  • Physical Demands : Ability to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) clearance.
  • Security Clearance : Physically be able to stand for extended periods of time andlift upto 35 lbs.
