Overview

Situated in the heart of Lake Country, BC, Peak Cellars Garden Bistro offers an exceptional culinary experience paired with award winning wines from our estate. Located amidst the stunning landscape of the Okanagan Valley, our bistro provides guests with breathtaking views and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We pride ourselves on using fresh, organic produce from our half acre on site culinary garden, two greenhouses and berry patch.

Role type: Both full-time and part-time opportunities depending on candidate availability, contract, hourly

Location: Lake Country, BC

Reports To: Chef de Cuisine and/or Executive Chef

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chef, the duties of a Line Cook include executing the menu on line to our high standards, prepping MEP for following shifts, and assisting the culinary team with on & off-site functions. We change our menu frequently according to the seasonality of our produce available from the garden & greenhouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to our seasonal menu, utilizing fresh ingredients sourced from our garden, local farms and suppliers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen stations, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and best sanitation practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service, maintaining quality and consistency in all dishes.
  • Assist in the prep and storage of produce, and help manage inventory to minimize waste.
  • Stay knowledgeable about seasonal offerings from the garden and contribute to menu ideas based on ingredient availability.
  • Ensure all dishes are plated and presented according to restaurant standards.
  • Contribute to a positive and efficient kitchen environment by being proactive, adaptable, and a team player.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role, preferably in a casual fine dining or farm-to-table environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passion for seasonal cooking and sustainable practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:
