Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Light Duty Cleaner to join our facilities team in Ottawa. You will perform general custodial tasks across designated areas, including dusting, mopping, washing fixtures and emptying waste, ensuring clean and safe spaces for staff and visitors.

Ideal candidates have previous cleaning experience, can communicate clearly in English, and are reliable team players who can operate cleaning equipment like I-mop and vacuum.

Qualifications

• Prior cleaning experience is an asset.
• Must communicate in English verbally and in writing.
• Reliable, motivated and a team player.
• Able to operate cleaning equipment (I-mop, vacuum).
• Physically able to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Dust, mop, and clean designated areas.
• Dusting, mopping, cleaning washrooms, and vacuuming.
• Restock soap, towels, toilet tissue, and sanitary napkins.
• Perform periodic equipment checks.
• Follow health and safety procedures.
• Handle waste disposal and ashtray cleaning.

Job description

How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for cleaning tasks in designated areas of a building, including dusting, mopping, cleaning washroom fixtures, spot cleaning, emptying, and cleaning ashtrays and vacuuming carpets.

As a Light Duty Cleaner, you will:

• Perform general custodial requirements and any related duties as assigned (duties include but are not limited to use of various cleaning equipment, vacuuming, spot cleaning, sweeping, mopping floors, emptying waste receptacles and other common areas)
• Restock single unit dispensers containing soap, towels, toilet tissue and sanitary napkins
• Complete periodic equipment checks
• Observe/practice all health & safety procedures and policies

About you:

• Previous cleaning experience is an asset
• Able to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing
• Must be reliable, motivated, enthusiastic and a team player, willing to assist as needed
• Must be able to use cleaning equipment (ie. I-mop, vacuum.)
• Physically able to carry out duties of the position
