Job Description

The light duty cleaner is generally responsible for customer service to patrons and maintaining the cleanliness of facilities, building common areas and exterior areas within or related to their assigned Office(s). They will attend to all daily cleaning requirements and service requests based on end user expectations.

General list of responsibilities.

  • Vacuum all traffic areas of the office space ESPECIALLY in corners and under common area tables. Vacuum all common areas outside office space.
  • Vacuum inside office space and around cubicles.
  • Clean and / or mop all non-carpeted flooring.
  • Clean workstations.
  • Empty all garbage from around the office. Empty recycling as needed.
  • High and Low-level dusting along all edges, cubicles, low hanging light fixtures, under 6’ in height.
  • Clean all glass doors, partitions, interior windows, and the inside of the exterior windows when needed especially around offices, cubicles, and front entry ways.
  • In boardrooms and office space arrange chairs in a neat and orderly fashion. Wipe tables, vacuum.
  • Kitchen areas, clean all areas of the kitchen, tabletops, countertops, sinks, inside doors of trash areas, walls directly behind trash areas, appliances, and floors.
  • Clean all internal bathrooms, and clean common area bathrooms.
  • Address client needs and provide quality control checks.

Duties :

  • Sweeping / Mopping
  • Garbage collection and removal
  • Cleaning the washrooms
  • Dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing
  • Floor maintenance
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Power washing
  • Deepcleaning
  • Other duties as required or assigned by the Manager
  • Daily Tasks :
  • Mop Lobbies
  • Wipe and clean Elevators
  • Floors to be spot washed
  • Office floors will be vacuumed / swept
  • Office workstations will be cleaned and / or dusted (Surfaces covered in personal belongings will not be touched)
  • Garbage’s will be emptied
  • Recycling will be checked
  • Compost to be emptied
  • Finger marks will be removed from door glass, door handles, and partitions.
  • Boardroom will be checked, cleaned, and tidied
  • Manually lock door and set alarm when finished
  • Kitchen Specific Daily Tasks;
  • Floors to be swept and / or mopped
  • Sinks and taps sanitized and cleaned
  • Stainless Steel Appliances polished
  • Dispensing machines cleaned
  • Thorough clean of all horizonal surfaces
  • Weekly Tasks :

  • Mop common area floors
  • High dusting areas below 6’ in height
  • Cupboards and vertical surfaces washed
  • Clean all glass doors, partitions, and interior windows
  • Clean the wall area directly behind where garbage cans are placed
  • Clean walls in boardroom
  • Monthly :

  • All stairways, doors, and windows to be washed monthly with daily spot cleaning
