Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a light duty cleaner in Oakville on a part-time schedule. The role includes floor care, carpet vacuuming, washroom and kitchenette cleaning, and waste disposal across assigned sites.

Applicants should be able to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and maintain high standards of cleanliness. Reliability and transportation are required; a criminal record check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Experience with auto scrubbers is an asset.
• Dependable and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dry mop, and wash/buff floors and stairwells.
• Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers and transport to collection points.
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including disinfecting fixtures and appliances.
• Replenish supply of consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• High dusting and wall washing.

General Description: A light duty cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning tasks including but not limited to hard surface floor cleaning, carpeted area vacuuming, dusting, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes, and the collection of garbage and recycling.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Participate in all training as required.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations as outlined by the Company.
• Sweep/dry mop, and wash/buff floors and stairwells utilizing manual and power scrubbing equipment as applicable.
• Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs in assigned buildings.
• Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
• Additional responsibilities as applicable to site:
• Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including clean/disinfect and polish fixtures and appliances as applicable, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste receptacles and floors.
• Replenish supply of consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out
• High dusting and wall washing.
• Additional duties as required.
