Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a part-time light duty cleaner to join our facility maintenance team. You will perform routine cleaning of floors, washrooms, kitchens and common areas across our sites, using standard cleaning equipment and occasionally auto scrubbers.

You will help maintain a clean, safe environment for clients and staff. The successful candidate works well with minimal supervision, pays close attention to detail, and adheres to health and safety guidelines.

• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, washrooms, kitchens and common areas.
• Vacuum carpets and matting; spot clean and shampoo rugs.
• Operate floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers and buffers.
• Empty trash, replace liners and transport waste.
• Follow health and safety regulations and site procedures.

General Description

A light duty cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning tasks including but not limited to hard surface floor cleaning, carpeted area vacuuming, dusting, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes, and the collection of garbage and recycling.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in all training as required.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations as outlined by the Company.
• Sweep/dry mop, and wash/buff floors and stairwells utilizing manual and power scrubbing equipment as applicable.
• Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs in assigned buildings.
• Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
• Additional responsibilities as applicable to site:
• Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including clean/disinfect and polish fixtures and appliances as applicable, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste receptacles and floors.
• Replenish supply of consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out
• High dusting and wall washing.
• Additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Experience with auto scrubbers an asset.
• Dependable and have reliable transportation.
