Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a light duty cleaner for multiple site locations in Hamilton, Ontario. The role involves cleaning floors, washrooms, kitchens and common areas, and the use of manual and power scrubbing equipment. Schedule is Monday to Friday, part-time with no weekends.

Responsibilities include trash removal, replenishing supplies, and following health and safety regulations. A Criminal Record Check is required, and reliable transportation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to take direction and work with minimal supervision as part of a team.
• Requires attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent service.
• Experience with cleaning tools; auto scrubbers an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, carpets, washrooms and kitchenettes; collect garbage and recycling.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and buff floors and stairwells using cleaning equipment.
• Maintain and operate floor machines and buffers.
• Restock supplies (toilet paper, soap, towels) and ensure washrooms/kitchens are clean.

General Description:

A light duty cleaner is generally responsible for cleaning tasks including but not limited to hard surface floor cleaning, carpeted area vacuuming, dusting, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes, and the collection of garbage and recycling.

Schedule Hours: Monday-Friday-Part Time Hours-No weekends

Duties And Responsibilities

• Participate in all training as required.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations as outlined by the Company.
• Sweep/dry mop, and wash/buff floors and stairwells utilizing manual and power scrubbing equipment as applicable.
• Vacuum carpets and matting in offices and common areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs in assigned buildings.
• Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums, automatic scrubbers and buffers.
• Additional responsibilities as applicable to site:
• Empty garbage and recycling containers, replace liners, and transport garbage/recycling to collection points
• Ensure washrooms and kitchens/kitchenettes are fully cleaned including clean/disinfect and polish fixtures and appliances as applicable, door handles, walls, mirrors, countertops, partitions, waste receptacles and floors.
• Replenish supply of consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels, soap, sanitizer, etc.
• Spot clean walls, doors, kick plates, etc. removing marks and smudges from vertical surfaces.
• Clean elevator(s) as applicable.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out
• High dusting and wall washing.
• Additional duties as required.
