Qualifications

Job Description

The lifeguard is responsible for supervising community members and groups in a heated hydrotherapy pool. This includes administrative duties such as booking and record-keeping, opening and closing their assigned area with a focus on safety and accident prevention, and effective communication with staff and the public.


Education & Experience

  • Current National Lifesaving Society certification including Standard First Aid
Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow Public Health Unit guidelines and enforce as posted/required
  • Open and close the assigned area with a focus on safety and accident prevention
  • Follow Providence Care policies and procedures for pool maintenance and emergency response
  • Perform daily chemical testing and record keeping
  • Report any missing or defective equipment or PPE that may endanger staff or others to supervisor or management
  • Maintain positioning on deck at all times and patrol regularly
  • Assist pool users and groups in the safe and appropriate use of equipment
