Job summary

Domaine International de Rouville is seeking lifeguards for the fall season at our heated pool, open through September 20th. Afternoon shifts are available on weekdays and weekends, with an autumn bonus upon hiring.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Must hold National Lifeguard certification - pool from Lifesaving Society.
  • Must hold National Lifeguard certification - beach from Lifesaving Society.

Responsibilities

  • Surveillance of bath area to ensure safety during operating hours.
  • Provide emergency care and respond to incidents until EMS arrives.
  • Maintain water quality and inspect pool facilities and equipment.
  • Assist guests with information and promote safety rules.
  • Complete shift reports and incident forms.
  • Participate in campsite activities and support guest services.

Domaine International de Rouville is looking for lifeguards to work as the fall season approaches, since our heated pool is open until September 20th. Afternoon shifts are available on weekdays and weekends.

The Domaine International de Rouville is a resort complex including a campground and a 27-hole golf course located near Mount Rougemont and Mount Saint-Hilaire, in the heart of the Monteregian landscape. Since 1960, this internationally renowned and popular tourist destination has offered water activities, camping stays, magnificent golf courses, and a performance hall.

The lifeguard's primary responsibilities are to ensure the safety of swimming areas and prevent accidents by maintaining constant surveillance. Reporting to the aquatic coordinator, they respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations and ensure that safety rules are followed. They also contribute to providing a pleasant experience for swimmers by answering their questions and ensuring the quality of equipment and facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Surveillance and rescue (during the operating hours of the bathing area)
  • Maintains constant monitoring of customers both inside and outside the water.
  • Recognizes drowning risk factors in supervised environments (RID: Recognition, Task Intrusion and Distraction).
  • Provides emergency care and necessary treatment until the arrival of emergency medical services, if applicable.
  • Informs and advises customers as needed.
  • Prevents the risk of injury or drowning.
  • Writes up reports related to their shift.
  • Completes incident forms, including witness information.
Equipment and installation (outside of operating hours)
  • Ensures the opening and closing of the facilities in collaboration with its manager.
  • Checks that the facilities and equipment, such as the backboard and the defibrillator, are functioning correctly.
  • Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
  • Maintains control of water quality.
  • Can perform water tests and add the appropriate amount of chemicals to protect bathers' health.
  • Can clean the pool or the beach.
Customer service (outside of business hours)
  • Inform people of the need for water safety measures.
  • Responds to customer requests and provides information on the company's services and the region's tourist attractions.
  • Deals with lost and found items.
  • Handles complaints or directs them to the appropriate people.
  • Ensures compliance with company regulations and those related to the swimming pool.
Perform all other related tasks
Participate in the campsite's activities by being available to perform tasks such as supervision, welcoming guests in the parking lot, etc.
HIRING CRITERIA
  • Be 16 years of age or older
  • Hold a current National Lifeguard certification from the Lifesaving Society - pool
  • Hold a current National Lifeguard certification from the Lifesaving Society - beach
