Job Title: Technical Services Technician II

Department: Lifecycle

Reports To: Technical Services Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Technician II position builds on foundational skills to service a range of water treatment technologies, including electrical rotating equipment like aeration mixers and water softening systems. It involves troubleshooting, mentoring junior technicians, and applying intermediate technical expertise to ensure system performance and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform all duties of Technician I, including startup, commissioning, training, and troubleshooting for non-electrical systems.
  2. Provide startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting for electrical rotating equipment, ensuring reliable performance.
  3. Support retrofits and participate in project handoffs with clear communication.
  4. Use CRM and SharePoint to document activities and analyze root causes.
  5. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including PLC troubleshooting.
  6. Manage travel, customer communication, and onsite visits independently.
  7. Monitor system performance and provide feedback for improvements.
  8. Mentor Level I technicians and promote safety and quality standards.
Other Duties
  • Maintain detailed service records.
  • Identify operational improvements and support sales opportunities.
  • Proactively service systems and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Document thoroughly, communicate effectively, and adhere to safety policies.
  • Support continuous learning and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience with water treatment technologies and electrical components.
  • Understanding of electrical drawings and instrumentation.
  • Experience troubleshooting VFDs and instrumentation preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Strong record-keeping skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Intermediate knowledge of water treatment and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.
Physical Demands

Ability to handle objects, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

Frequent outdoor work in a manufacturing environment, exposure to noise, hazards, and PPE requirements. Safety standards must be followed at all times.
