Job summary

Kitimat Community Development Centre in Kitimat, BC, is seeking a compassionate Parent Support / CLBC Support Worker to provide individualized support to families and adults with developmental disabilities through two programs: Parent Support Services and Community Living BC (CLBC).

The role emphasizes independence, community inclusion, and collaboration with families, community partners, and the KCDC team, with 29 hours per week and an hourly wage of $22–$28 CAD.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Social Service Worker Diploma or related education/experience.
  • Experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families in a community setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities, parenting supports, and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to parents based on identified needs.
  • Promote positive parenting and healthy parent-child relationships.
  • Assist families in accessing community resources and activities for community integration.
  • Facilitate parent education and support sessions; participate in service planning and team meetings.
  • Develop parent support materials and maintain program records.
