Job summary

Trico Centre for Family Wellness in Calgary, Alberta is hiring Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for part-time and full-time hourly positions, with daytime, evenings, weekends and holidays shifts.

You will guard, instruct swimming programs, maintain pool safety and deliver outstanding customer service in a friendly, professional environment. Required NL and LSI certifications, First Aid/CPR, background check; pool operator is an asset.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 16 years of age or older.
• Current National Lifeguarding (NL) Certification mandatory.
• Current Lifesaving Instructor certification (LSI) mandatory.
• Current First Aid/CPR “C”/AED Certification required.
• Background check will be initiated for all new hires.

Responsibilities

• Maintains pool safety standards in a busy wave pool environment.
• Lifeguards and provides related duties.
• Plans, instructs and evaluates swim programs as needed.
• Maintains high levels of pool, deck and change room cleanliness.
• Liaises with parents and children on instruction progress and pool rules.
• Delivers exceptional customer service to patrons.

Salary Range: $17.50 To $19.00 Hourly

LIFEGUARD & SWIM INSTRUCTOR

Trico Centre has part-time and full-time hourly opportunities available for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors who enjoy working in a fun dynamic team environment. We have an excellent group of employees and are looking to add to our current team. These roles take on a wide variety of tasks which may include; working with the public, guarding, instructing, and performing cleaning tasks in a professional and friendly manner.If you have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a safe facility we are looking for you. Working shifts include daytime, evenings weekends and statutory holidays.Preference will be given to candidates who have both their NL and LSI Certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains pool safety standards in a busy wave pool environment
• Lifeguards and provides related duties
• Plans, instructs and evaluates swim programs as needed
• Maintains a high level of pool, deck and change room cleanliness
• Liaises with parents and children on instruction progress and pool rules

• Provides a safe and fun learning environment for swimmers and patrons
• Shows a positive and professional attitude
• Implements facility wide and pool first aid procedures when required

• Trico Centre will initiate a comprehensive criminal background check for all new hires. A previous check will be accepted provided it is dated within the past 6 months, If you are 18 years or older, it is Mandatory.
• Pool Operator 1 is a definite asset
• WHMIS
• Previous guarding experience a definite asset
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
