Job description

Overview

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) demonstrates knowledge and understanding of normal limits of vital signs and commonly used lab tests by recognizing abnormal findings and reporting them to the RN. Under the leadership of the RN, the LVN gathers data on the patient’s physical and emotional needs, as well as family psychological needs. The LVN provides skilled and safe nursing care to assigned patients.

Responsibilities

The LVN is responsible for:

  1. Recognizing and reporting abnormal vital signs and lab test findings to the RN.
  2. Gathering data on patients' physical and emotional needs.
  3. Gathering data on family psychological needs.
  4. Providing skilled and safe nursing care to assigned patients under the leadership of the RN.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  1. Current licensure as an LVN in the State of California.
  2. Current Basic Life Support certification and ACLS certification.
  3. Required IV certification.
  4. Required NIHSS Stroke certification.
