Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive patient and family-centered care on an acute surgical unit in accordance with UAH and AHS policies and procedures. 3F3 is an 18+ bed unit providing care to Orthopedic and General Surgery patients received from the operating room, emergency department, intensive care unit, and directly from home and/or surgery clinics. Decisions are made in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment. As an LPN, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and families. The LPN provides safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. Working within the full scope of practice, the LPN observes, monitors, reports, and documents changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional states, assists with activities of daily living, and provides relevant information and teaching to patients and families.

Responsibilities include:
