Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a temp PT evening shift in Edmonton, AB. You will join the Shasta Care Community team to provide compassionate nursing care to residents and support their daily needs.

Reporting to the Wellness Manager, you will ensure care plans are followed and collaborate with staff to maintain a positive, respectful environment for residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Must be in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation or senior health is an asset.
• Ability to provide nursing care in accordance with policy, orders, and plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per established policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care within LPN scope.
• Ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Shasta Care Community team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.


• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care


• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff


• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff


• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit


• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are:

• In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta


• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry


• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
