Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join Shasta Care Community on a part-time basis. You will provide nursing care and support residents in a compassionate, professional environment, reporting to the Wellness Manager.

The role requires standing nursing supervision of PSWs, adherence to policies, and the ability to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing with the applicable Nursing College.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Strong judgement and ability to foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident care plans.
• Deliver nursing and personal care with sound practice principles.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care with regular updates to residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and status changes with ongoing resident assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Shasta Care Community team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are:

• In good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
