Reporting to the Manager, Ophthalmology Clinic and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs duties including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to assist patients in meeting their physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs while in the surgical setting. Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols.
Graduation from a recognized Operating Room program for Licensed Practical Nurses, plus one year recent related experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
