The Licensed Practical Nurse, Operating Room - Post Anesthesia Recovery Room (LPN) provides safe, efficient, and competent patient care assistance in the Operating Room (OR) and Post Anesthesia Recovery Room (PARR). You will ensure that the surgical patient's needs are met throughout the perioperative experience, including preoperative assessment and teaching, intraoperative and postoperative care.
The position includes roles of scrub nurse and post-anesthesia recovery room nurse. As the LPN, you may scrub in and assist the surgeon with procedures by preparing and passing instruments. You will receive patients in the recovery room and monitor their status until they are ready for discharge. You will act as a patient advocate and facilitate communication between the patient, surgical team, and Stanton Territorial Hospital, fostering a holistic approach to care planning, organization, teaching, and relationship development.
You must demonstrate compassionate care and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintaining current knowledge through ongoing education and competency in perioperative practice is essential. You may make independent decisions regarding nursing care plans based on verified medical orders from a Registered Nurse. The LPN works Monday to Friday and is on call on a rotating basis for emergency procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Note: No combinations will be considered except: with ten (10) or more years of OR experience, where OR-specific training is not required.
The salary range is from $47.40 to $56.61 per hour (approximately $92,430 - $110,390), plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
