Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Operating Room team at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC. About the Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Provides practical nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied surgical interventions.
  • Consults, confers, and collaborates with other members of the surgical team to facilitate safe and effective surgical interventions through scrubbing and circulating duties, in accordance with standards and protocols.
  • Participates in pre-operative, operative, and post-operative activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.81) opportunity until December 5, 2026, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 10:00 to 18:00, 07:15 to 15:15, and 15:00 to 23:00 hours.

The hospital offers 24/7 emergency services, a state-of-the-art six-bed ICU, a new MRI space, four Operating Theatres including a new Urology suite supported by Pre-Surgical Screening, OR Booking, Surgical Day Care, and a 5-bed PACU. Services include general surgery, urology (laser), gynecology/obstetrics, ENT (laser), dental, orthopedics, cystoscopy, endoscopy, and cataract surgery. Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses with current licensed practical nursing competencies, and graduation from an accredited OR program for LPNs, plus one (1) year recent related experience in acute care, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR certification required.
