Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Part Time

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to residents, including medication administration, and will mentor and coach unregulated staff.

***Note: This location offers a signing bonus of up to $5,000***

Schedule: 4 days on, 3 days off; 06:30-14:30 on Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon; off Tue, Wed, Thu.

Responsibilities
  • Develop care plans under the guidance of the Director of Care for residents' physical, psychological, and social needs.
  • Supervise and assist care aides to ensure high standards of resident care.
  • Administer, monitor, and document medications; educate residents as needed.
  • Create and manage nursing care plans; evaluate medical needs regularly.
  • Assess the effectiveness of nursing treatments and communicate significant changes to the physician and care team.
  • Provide personal care, perform nursing procedures, and mentor Health Care Aides.
  • Work collaboratively with residents and communicate concerns to healthcare providers.
  • Maintain competence through ongoing education and evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial health standards, legislation, and safety regulations.
  • Practice safe work procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma in Nursing.
  • Registration with the provincial nursing regulatory body, in good standing.
  • Experience in residential care preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Compassionate approach to resident care.
