The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $41.35/Hr.

As an LPN at Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, performing full scope of practical nursing functions for clients with predictable outcomes within a designated area of specialty.
  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document client care, providing support to clients and their families.
  • Support the Registered Nurse in caring for clients with unpredictable outcomes or where the acuity or complexity of care requires an advanced level of knowledge and skill beyond the scope of practice for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Follow decision support tools and cast fractures of a bone with orders when a medical practitioner or nurse practitioner is available.
  • Maintain and advance clinical competence pursuant to the standards of practice of BCCNM for Licensed Practical Nurses.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Licensed Practical Nurses, plus successful completion of recognized, formal post-basic education in advanced orthopedics for LPNs.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work pursuant to the standards of practice under the BCCNM.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
Closing Statement

Required skills: Emergency nursing specialty and/or at least 2 years’ recent related experience. Current ACLS, CTAS, PALS.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections.
