Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Operating Room team at Ksyen Regional Hospital. You will provide practical nursing services as part of an integrated surgical team, scrub and circulate, and support pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.

Under supervision of the OR manager, you will collaborate with the surgical team, assess and document client care, and assist families.

Qualifications

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Operating Room, provides practical nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied surgical interventions. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other members of the surgical team in facilitating safe and effective surgical interventions through the performance of scrubbing and circulating duties in accordance with established standards and protocols. This includes pre-operative, operative, and post-operative activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied surgical interventions under the supervision of the Manager or designate.
