We are currently looking for highly professional, experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to work in a variety of long term and acute care facilities in the North Vancouver area.

This opportunity allows you to earn above-average wages with travel compensation and accommodation.

Shifts would be early morning, afternoon, evening, overnight with consistent hours and a set schedule until further notice.

Responsibilities

  • To provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s).
  • Ensure a timely and accessible admission for the residents including a comprehensive orientation to the home and the services offered within the home Ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe
  • Ensure the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts
  • Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the residents

Requirements

  • Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Able to work with persons with Infectious Diseases
  • BLS Certificate
  • Valid First Aid & CPR
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (MMRV), proof of negative TB skin test within one (1) year as well as Hepatitis B
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work the flexible shift times, depending on the facility; eight (8) or twelve (12) hours in length.
  • Must be able to ‘float’ from unit to unit within a hospital, depending on facility need.
  • Must be reliable (once availability is given) to be placed at an agreed upon facility/unit.
  • Must be in compliance with the RhynoCare Healthcare shift acceptance/cancellation policy (provided for review upon hiring).
