The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84 / Hr. - CAD $41.35 / Hr.

Under the guidance of the Resident Care Manager and in close collaboration with a diverse healthcare team the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers top-notch nursing care to long-term care residents in addition to providing emotional comfort and support to residents and their families. What You Bring

Education :

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education training and experience
  • Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification

Skills & Abilities :

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to apply decision making and analytical skills
  • Ability to role model conflict resolution strategies
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Ability to teach and identify patient / resident learning needs

Your Day to Day

  • Provide safe and respectful nursing care adhering to established policies individualized care plans and priorities
  • Conduct thorough assessments monitor signs / symptoms and communicate with the RN / RPN as needed
  • Prepare patients for procedures transfers and admissions coordinating with the interdisciplinary team
  • Administer medications per protocol monitor effects and maintain communication with the team
  • Utilize evidence-based resources to stay updated on nursing practices
  • Respond to incidents such as codes injuries spills and alarms following procedures
  • Assist with staff orientation demonstrating procedures and providing support
  • Address patient / resident and family learning needs provide educational materials and make referrals
  • Attend care planning meetings provide input and advocate for patients / residents
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
  • Assist with discharge planning based on patient status and external supports
  • Operate and clean equipment report malfunctions and handle hazardous materials. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones faxing and maintaining records
