Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Williams Lake, BC is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Long-term Care team at Deni House. You will assess, plan and provide personal and nursing care to residents in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing.
  • Experience in long-term care or multidisciplinary teams preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to residents in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administers medications in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Operates within the Standards of Practice and organizational guidelines.

About The Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

  • Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
  • Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
  • Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.59) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled evenings and nights rotating from 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00 hours.

Deni House means “A House for Our People.” Deni House is home to 19 permanent clients and includes 9 short‑stay beds offering respite, convalescent and palliative care.
