Position Summary
Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication to delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at the Pines.
Works within the context of a client and family-centered care model and in accordance with the standards, scope, and code of ethics outlined by BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and the vision and values of Northern Health. Under the direction of the Clinical Supervisor or designate, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse applies the Nursing Process, performs assessments, plans, provides nursing care, and may provide direction to other staff.
The LPN operates in accordance with the expected competencies within the Entry to Practice Competencies, Scope of Practice, and Standards of Practice as outlined by BCCNM, as well as within a client and family-centered care model and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols.
The LPN will support clients and families to achieve and maintain optimal health by performing the following duties and responsibilities.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Nights, 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 (rotating)
The Pines is a one-level facility with two main resident wings centered around common activity, lounge, and dining areas. The Pines provides Recreational Therapy Services daily. Pastoral and Spiritual Services are provided by local clergy and other spiritual care resources. There is a Volunteer Program to accompany Residents on social outings, appointments, and assist with feeding. Hairdressing and barber services are available on-site for a fee. The Pines also offers an on-site integrated community adult day program, operating 3 days per week.
Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, boasting over 4800 km of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves an area of approximately 13,000 residents. It hosts two First Nations communities, has affordable housing options including lakefront properties, and offers various educational institutions.
