Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Full Time

Position Overview: As the Licensed Practical Nurse, you are responsible for providing professional nursing care to residents, including medication administration, and mentoring and coaching unregulated staff.
***Please note this location qualifies for signing bonuses up to $5,000 and a relocation allowance***
Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and record medication administration; educate residents as needed
- Assist in creating and managing nursing care plans and participate in evaluating current and future medical needs
- Provide personal care assistance, nursing procedures, and mentorship and coaching of Health Care Aides
- Work with residents to meet care requirements and communicate any concerns to the doctor and manager as needed
- Demonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adults
- Ensure compliance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and safety statutes
- Maintain awareness of accident and injury prevention through safe work practices and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Nursing diploma
- Registered with provincial nursing association and in good standing
- Experience in a residential care setting is preferred
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple resident requests
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and problem-solve effectively
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Display compassion, education, proficiency, and experience in assisting residents
Additional Requirements:
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Current residence within Canada
- Ability to obtain sponsorship if required
- Active unrestricted BCCN&M License, CLPNA, and/or CRNA License (please attach proof)
- Minimum two years of full-time Canadian nursing experience (or equivalent)
- Completion of all current provincial vaccinations (e.g., Tuberculosis, Influenza)
- Valid CPR and First Aid certificates (please attach proof)
- Relevant and highest educational certificates pertaining to the role (please attach)
- Three work references from a supervisor or manager, including name, relationship, phone number, and email (please provide)
