Overview

EHN Complex Needs Emergency Facility Regina supports individuals with elevated and unique needs, providing specialized emergency shelter support based on assessments to deliver services within the community.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, the LPN will assess clients with mental health and addiction issues, provide treatment management, guidance, and prescribe medications following regulatory standards. The role requires working all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Deliver client care according to the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan
  • Use the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Develop and implement client care plans
  • Follow physician’s orders safely
  • Administer medications
  • Maintain current progress records legally and ethically
  • Orient and reinforce clients’ involvement in addiction treatment
  • Respond to medical emergencies promptly
  • Provide supportive counseling to clients and families
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment conducive to learning and recovery
  • Educate clients on health maintenance and healthy lifestyles
  • Coordinate appointments and referrals
  • Participate in team assessments, planning, and evaluation
  • Assist with crisis intervention and addiction information
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program with pharmacological training
  • Licensed Practical Nurse registered in Saskatchewan
  • Current CPR certification
  • Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership roles
  • Reliable attendance record
  • Leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting
  • Experience with team-based, person-centered care
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
