Interior Health Authority is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse for Elk Valley Hospital BC. Join a dynamic team delivering patient care in a fast-paced environment, with rotating day and night shifts from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00.

Elk Valley Hospital features a 20-bed unit, busy ER, maternity, and surgery services in Fernie. This permanent full-time role offers competitive wages, shift premiums, benefits, and opportunities for education and growth within the Interior Health

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Licensed Practical Nurse license in British Columbia.
• Experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan care, and deliver nursing interventions for patients.
• Administer medications by oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular routes per policy.
• Work within BC College of Nurses and Midwives guidelines and hospital protocols.

About The Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours
