WAGE: Starting at $37.50/hour

JOB SUMMARY:
The Agency is partnering with Minhas Group and they are looking for a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join the South Valley Residence in Valleyview, AB. This position will offer you:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide resident-focused care in a home-like environment, respecting the individual and dignity of each resident/family and co-workers.
• Provide direct care by assessing resident health needs such as but not limited to recording of vital signs, discussing and recording chief health concerns, performing tests, administering injections and medications, dressing changes, immunizations, etc.
• Monitor residents with complex medical needs.
• Supervise and evaluate work performance in terms of resident care, staff relations, and efficiency of service.
• Direct the work of HCA's based on resident and site needs.
• Order prescriptions and set up referral contacts.
• Document patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures.
• Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to residents and family members and assist them in coping with illness.
• Maintain required records including specimen, maintenance, daily, weekly, and monthly logs.
• Practice to their full range of competence within applicable legislation, regulations, bylaws, and employer policies.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement.
• Create a facility environment that protects the confidentiality of residents, staff, and activities of the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate from a recognized LPN Program; experience in gerontology is preferred.
• Current membership in good standing with CLPNA.
• CPR/BCLS for healthcare providers required.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, concern resolution process, and customer service.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
• Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
• Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service on behalf of the company.
