Licensed Practical Nurse, Long-Term Care - (199438)

Under the supervision of the Manager or designate and collaborating as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides care to complex but stable residents/clients. Responsibilities include performing assessments, planning and providing personal care, and executing nursing procedures. The LPN operates within the full scope of practice as defined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to competency guidelines, agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
• Completion of additional education as required by BCCNM for practice involving primary diagnoses of Mental Health and/or Substance Use.

Skills and Abilities

• Effective verbal and written communication with residents, families, co-workers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.
• Ability to deal effectively with others.
• Organizational skills to plan and implement care.
• Competency to work at the full scope of practice, including medication administration, as required by BCCNM.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical capability to perform duties of the position.
