Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope - (213645)

Under the direction of the Manager or designate and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Scope, performs assessments, plans, provides personal care, and executes nursing procedures. The nurse operates within the competency guidelines and full scope of practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives, adhering to agency policies, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience

• Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant.
• Perinatal positions require either (a) completion of a perinatal education program plus breastfeeding course, or (b) one year of recent (within the last 2 years) acute perinatal experience. Additionally, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within the past 2 years is required.
• MHSU positions require completion of additional education as outlined by BCCNM for practice involving mental health and/or substance use disorders.

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, co-workers, multidisciplinary team members, and the public.

• Organize work and implement a care plan.
• Demonstrate knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice, including medication administration.
• Operate related equipment.
• Physically perform the duties required by the position.
