We pride ourselves on providing the best care to the children in our program and we are always looking for compassionate individuals to join our team.

A Licensed Practical Nurse bears full responsibility for the quality of health care they provide to the residents at Seven Hills Pediatric Center at Hopedale. This role includes delegating nursing activities to assigned health care personnel while ensuring appropriate teaching, directing, and supervision of the delegates. The LPN provides quality care to children and young adults in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess and coordinate healthcare services for the Program Manager, institute appropriate follow-up, and communicate all medical issues to the program Residential Registered Nurse and other appropriate staff members.
  2. Assist individuals in designated programs to their medical appointments and with transportation as recommended by the Program Manager, Registered Nurse, or Nurse Practitioner.
  3. Document all nursing interventions and changes affecting the children in appropriate areas.
  4. Review the plans of care for current knowledge of programming as required by the Department of Children and Families and/or other agencies.
  5. Maintain current medication and treatment orders noting any side effects and report to appropriate individuals: MD, NP, Program Manager, or program Residential RN.
  6. Assist in training staff in medication policies and procedures.
  7. Maintain health records according to various government agencies as required.
  8. Consult with the residential Registered Nurse for supervision and direction as needed to ensure appropriate medical health care is provided for participants.
  9. Attend staff meetings to present all current medical/health concerns and any upcoming medical appointments to the team.
  10. Complete all mandatory in-service education in a timely manner and attend any educational programs at the recommendation of the Program Manager.
  11. Implement procedures and services including medical interventions or additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager or residential Registered Nurse.
  12. Ensure that residents are sufficiently observed to maintain their safety and optimal health.
Qualifications
  1. LPN Nurse with current Massachusetts license.
  2. One year of experience working with medically fragile children.
  3. Valid driver’s license required.
