The Licensed Practical Nurse plays a critical role within our communities, impacting residents' lives and fostering human connection.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, your typical day will include:
  1. Providing nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an LPN. Ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned areas.
  2. Managing medications by ensuring the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and following protocols on all shifts.
  3. Creating a safe and comfortable environment that respects residents' privacy, dignity, autonomy, independence, and personal values.
  4. Optimizing residents’ potential to achieve or maintain maximum functional ability.
  5. Seeking guidance from the RN when resident needs exceed your experience or scope of practice.
  6. Exercising sound nursing judgment by reporting changes in resident status promptly and taking appropriate actions.
  7. Fostering teamwork through collaboration, monitoring care, communicating with residents and families, and guiding Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members.
  8. Coordinating with medical team members to support effective clinical care.
  9. Continuously assessing your nursing practice and learning needs.
  10. Participating in education through in-service programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  11. Documenting care and strategies on the individualized care plan to achieve optimal outcomes.
  12. Gathering data on admission, readmission, and status changes, and providing ongoing assessments and documentation.
  13. Performing other duties as assigned.
Must haves:
  • Diploma in Practical Nursing
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC
  • Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements
  • Current First Aid with CPR
  • Successful Criminal Records Check (applicable to BC applicants)

Leveling rate of pay: $32.84 - $41.35 per hour until wage leveling ends, after which the pay rate will reflect the collective agreement starting rate.
