Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse to join the Ambulatory Care Unit in Kelowna, BC. This casual role offers shifts Monday to Friday, with day hours between 08:00 and 17:00, in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will perform nursing assessments, provide patient care, and administer medications in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, adhering to BC guidelines and unit protocols.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current LPN license in good standing.
• Experience in ambulatory care or fast-paced settings is an asset.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and plans, implement nursing care with the team.
• Administer medications per policies and procedures.
• Operate within BC College of Nurses and Midwives standards and unit protocols.

About The Job

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Performs assessments and plans, implements and provides personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; the scope or extent of the skills that the LPN performs varies according to the predictability of the outcome for a given client population
• Administers oral, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures
• Operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols

This is a Casual opportunity

Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.

Shifts of work will be days, Monday to Friday, with shift times of 08:00 to 16:00, 08:30 to 16:30, 09:00 to 17:00 hours.
