Interior Health (IH) is committed to achieving a culturally diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We encourage you to bring your whole self to work. We promote well-being and work-life balance within our team, and our commitment to environmental sustainability supports our primary goal of improving the health and well-being of everyone in the Interior Health region, from our employees to the populations we serve.

A first in Canada: minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) are starting in B.C.! Interior Health, along with other health authorities, is implementing mNPR as a transformative staffing solution to enhance the working environment for nurses and provide better quality care to patients.

About the Job:
  • Perform assessments and develop, implement, and provide personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. The scope of skills varies based on the predictability of outcomes for each client population.
  • Administer oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications following pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Operate within the competency guidelines and full scope of practice outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), adhering to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols.

This is a casual opportunity. Casual employment means hours are not guaranteed and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. Many opportunities with Interior Health begin as casual employment and can lead to regular roles.

Shifts may be days or nights; 07:15 to 19:15 or 19:15 to 07:15 hours.

Effective April 1, 2024, the hourly wage for this position will range from $32.84 to $41.35.
